The Yankees are calling the injury a shin contusion and the good news is X-rays came back negative. Diaz's exit velocity on the batted ball was 111.3 mph. Ouch. Tanaka was fantastic before departing, twirling six shutout innings while striking out six. We should know more about his status in the coming days.
