Wilmer Flores placed on injured list with fractured right foot

Diamondbacks utility man Wilmer Flores was placed on the 10-day injured list with a fractured foot on Wednesday, the team announced. The move is retroactive to Monday, the first game Flores missed after being hit in the foot by a pitch on Sunday. (Zach Buchanan on Twitter)

While the severity of the injury is not clear at this time, the team was initially hopeful that Flores would only have to miss a few days. The move to the IL proves that those hopes were optimistic, but it's still possible that Flores will only need to miss the minimum required time.
