Mets first baseman Pete Alonso went 2-for-4 with a home run, a double, and two runs scored in Friday's loss to the Detroit Tigers. The homer was his 17th of the season.

Alonso had been slumping in May but now has three home runs over his last five games. He now has 17 home runs on the season to go with a .256 average, 32 runs scored, and 38 RBIs in a breakout rookie season.
