Edwin Diaz implodes against the Dodgers

by Dan Harris | Mets Correspondent | Thu, May 30th 1:09pm EDT

Edwin Diaz allowed four runs on five hits and a walk over just 1/3 of an inning against the Dodgers on Wednesday night. He was credited with a loss and a blown save.

Fantasy Impact:

Diaz entered with a three-run lead but immediately ran into trouble, allowing back-to-back homers by Joc Pederson and Max Muncy. He could not put hitters away, and looked to be fatigued, as he has dealt with a heavy workload recently. Diaz's numbers now look pedestrian, but they were pristine prior to this hiccup, so fantasy owners should do their best to just write off this blowup. He remains an elite closing option.
