Hector Neris locks down 12th save Wednesday

by Connor Rooney | Cubs Correspondent | Thu, Jun 6th 10:30am EDT

Neris recorded a five-out save, while striking out two, in a 7-5 victory against the Padres on Wednesday. The save was Neris's 12th of the season.

Fantasy Impact:

The Phillies turned to Neris in a high-leverage situation in the 8th, and he escaped a bases-loaded jam despite walking the first batter he faced. Neris then retired the Padres in order in the 9th. Neris is 12-for-12 in save opportunities this season, and with fellow bullpen arm Seranthony Dominguez sidelined with an elbow injury, Neris seems solidified as the Phillies' primary option in save situations. His outing Wednesday moves his ERA to 2.03 and his WHIP to 0.90.
