To update a previous report, Haniger was diagnosed with a testicular contusion, which caused him to be removed from Thursday's game against the Astros. (Greg Johns of MLB.com)

Fantasy Impact:

Haniger was removed in the seventh inning after fouling a ball off of himself, and the specifics of the injury have now been made clear. Mariners manager Scott Servais explained in his post-game press conference that Haniger was in the midst of further testing to determine the severity of the issue. Until those results are clarified, Haniger should be considered day-to-day in advance of Friday's series opener against the Angels.
