Javier Baez went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in the Cubs' 3-1 win over the Cardinals on Friday.
Fantasy Impact:
Baez is on a power binge right now, with three home runs over his last five games. The underlying metrics don't support his performance, as Baez has a .396 BABIP despite a 30.9% K rate and 50% groundball rate. He also has a 30.8% HR/FB rate, which is boosting his power numbers higher than what we'd typically expect. Baez is going to be a top middle infield option all season, but now might be the time to try and cash-in on his first two months for a first-round caliber player. Take nothing less in a trade.
