Tyler Mahle takes sixth loss Friday

Tyler Mahle allowed three runs (two earned) on four hits over five innings in the Reds' 4-2 loss to the Phillies on Friday. He walked none and struck out two while falling to 2-6.
Fantasy Impact:
This start was one of Mahle's better outings from an earned runs perspective, but the two strikeouts are tied for his season-low. Mahle only threw his fastball 50% of the time in this game compared to a 60% clip on the year. The only other time he used his fastball at 50% was on April 27 against St. Louis, his other two-strikeout outing. Perhaps he was trying a new approach, but the fastball is Mahle's best strikeout pitch and he'll need to be around 55-60% usage to maintain above average strikeout numbers. His next start comes Wednesday at Cleveland.
