Jason Vargas not expected to miss time after leaving with leg cramps Sunday

by Mike Maher | Sun, Jun 16th 10:01pm EDT

Mets starter Jason Vargas left Sunday's start against the St. Louis Cardinals with cramps in his left calf and left hamstring but is not expected to miss time, according to Mets beat writer Tim Healey. Per Healy, "His left calf cramped up while he was pitching in the top of the fourth, and his left hamstring cramped up while he was batting in the bottom of the fourth." The Mets have no concern he'll miss a start. (Tim Healey on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

Vargas had allowed two earned runs on one hit and three walks while striking out four over four innings prior to exiting on Sunday. His ERA is currently at 3.74 on the season, and he is scheduled to take on the Cubs in Chicago in his next start. Keep an eye on his status over the next few days, but it sounds like he should be fine going forward.
