Luis Castillo picks up seventh victory Monday

by Elliott Baas | Reds Correspondent | Mon, Jun 17th 11:39pm EDT

Luis Castillo allowed two runs on two hits over six innings in the Reds' 3-2 win over the Astros on Monday. He walked six and struck out seven while improving to 7-1.

Fantasy Impact:

The six walks are worrisome, but Castillo was otherwise stellar in a tough matchup. Walks have been a problem for him all season, as he's walked multiple batters in each of his last five starts. With a 4.52 BB/9, we cannot reasonably expect Castillo to maintain a sub-3 ERA. He's still a must-start pitcher, but these walks will come back to haunt him at some point. His next start comes Saturday vs. Milwaukee.
