Julio Teheran allows six runs in loss to Mets Tuesday

by Mike Maher | Cubs Correspondent | Wed, Jun 19th 8:58am EDT

Braves starting pitcher Julio Teheran allowed six earned runs on eight hits and three walks while striking out three over four innings in Tuesday’s loss to the New York Mets. The loss drops him to 5-5 on the season.

Fantasy Impact:

Teheran had been on an incredible run, with just three earned runs allowed combined over his previous six starts. He was never going to keep up that pace, but fantasy owners were likely hoping he would at least be able to avoid a disastrous outing like Tuesday’s. His ERA jumped from 2.92 to 3.40 after Tuesday, and his 5.06 xFIP indicates that additional regression could be on the way. His next start is scheduled to come against the Cubs in Chicago.
