Luis Castillo: looks sharp in defeat
by Connor Rooney | Mariners Correspondent | Sun, Jun 30th 8:18am EDT
Luis Castillo (7-3) allowed one run on three hits with six strikeouts and three walks across seven innings against the Cubs on Saturday. He was saddled with the loss.
Fantasy Impact:
Castillo pitched brilliantly in this game; his only blemish being a solo home run by Jason Heyward in the second inning. This was a nice rebound performance from his last start, where he was removed in the fourth inning. Overall, Castillo has a 2.47 ERA and 1.15 WHIP despite issuing 52 walks in 98.1 innings. He has maintained a stellar WHIP and ERA by boasting one of the league's highest ground ball rates, and relying on a filthy, nearly unhittable, changeup. He'll take on the Brewers next Thursday at home.
