Brandon Woodruff loses pitchers' duel Thursday

by Connor Rooney | Brewers Correspondent | Thu, Jul 4th 7:49pm EDT

Brandon Woodruff (10-3) pitched well Thursday against the Reds, allowing one run on seven hits in six innings while striking out six. He took the loss because the Brewers failed to score any runs in the game.

Fantasy Impact:

The Reds strung together four hits in the first inning to score a run, but Woodruff settled in beautifully after that. Only one runner reached second base in the next five innings. Woodruff had a strong first half, posting a 3.67 ERA and a 28.8 percent strikeout rate, and is tied atop the National League with 10 wins.
