Phillies starter Nick Pivetta allowed three earned runs on six hits and two walks while striking out two over five innings in a loss to the Nationals on Friday. The loss drops him to 4-4 on the season.
Fantasy Impact:
Pivetta now has a 5.81 ERA on the season across 11 starts, and more importantly, for fantasy owners, his strikeout numbers have been down over his four starts. While his usually solid strikeout numbers help some fantasy owners overlook his inconsistent overall performance, any kind of dip in strikeouts would all but erase Pivetta's fantasy appeal. He will look to bounce back when he takes on the Dodgers at home in his next start.
