Hector Neris suspended three games, will appeal

by Clinton H. | Cubs Correspondent | Wed, Jul 17th 5:56pm EDT

Hector Neris has been handed a three-game suspension for intentionally hitting David Freese in Tuesday's game against the Dodgers. He will appeal the ruling and is eligible to pitch Wednesday. (Bill Baer on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

Neris's frustration seemed to boil over after giving up a three-run home run to blow another save. He's been struggling as of late allowing six earned runs over his last four appearances. Just prior to the league notice of his suspension manager Gabe Kapler said Neris would close Wednesday night for the Phillies despite his recent struggles stating, "he's really our best option. He's proven it."
