Mike Soroka takes second loss Saturday

by Mike Maher | White Sox Correspondent | Sun, Jul 21st 7:53am EDT

Braves starter Mike Soroka allowed four earned runs on nine hits and two walks while striking out four over six innings in Saturday's loss to the Nationals. The loss drops him to 10-2 on the season.

Fantasy Impact:

Soroka has been a popular second-half regression candidate for many analysts due to his underlying metrics, low strikeout numbers, and a fantastic first half that was going to be tough to follow up. He was coming off of an excellent start against the Padres that saw him toss seven scoreless innings while striking out nine batters, but Saturday's performance was a bit more pedestrian. After allowing more than three earned runs just once over his first 14 starts, he has now allowed four earned runs in two of his last three starts. His next start is scheduled to come against the Phillies in Philadelphia.
