Jesse Chavez picks up first save

by Brad Camara | Braves Correspondent | Thu, Aug 1st 5:36am EDT

Jesse Chavez allowed one hit and struck out two through a scoreless ninth inning in Wednesday's 9-7 win over the Mariners. He picked up his first save of the season.

Fantasy Impact:

Chavez received the save opportunity after Jose Leclerc blew a save Sunday, but this could be a committee going forward. With Chris Martin dealt and Shawn Kelley on the injured list, Chavez could be in line for some additional save opportunities. If you are desperate for saves, he is worth a look while current closer Shawn Kelley is shelved. Chavez has a 4.42 ERA with a 8.5 K/9 and a 2.7 BB/9 through 43 appearances this season.
