Jeff Samardzija needed 98 pitches to get through four innings on Monday versus the Nationals, allowing just one run on three hits while taking the loss.
Fantasy Impact:
The 34-year-old walked three and also struck out three. Four innings isn’t anything to write home about but he has been on a nice run lately in terms of run prevention. Samardzija will carry a 3.70 ERA into a tough matchup against the Phillies next time out.
