Max Scherzer still not ready to throw off a mound

by Mike Maher | Rangers Correspondent | Tue, Aug 6th 8:09pm EDT

According to a report from beat reporter Mark Zuckerman on Twitter, Nationals pitcher Max Scherzer “wasn’t great, but felt OK” after throwing on Monday and is not yet ready to throw off a mound. Washington is going to give him a couple of days off before he throws again. (Mark Zuckerman on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

Scherzer returned from the injured list and made a start on July 25 but was placed back on the IL shortly after the start. He has dealt with back and shoulder issues over the last month, and the Nationals are hoping to get him right for the stretch run. Through 20 starts this season, the Washington ace has a 2.41 ERA and 189 strikeouts over 134 1/3 innings.
