by Mike Maher | Red Sox Correspondent | Wed, Aug 7th 3:30pm EDT

Free agent catcher Jonathan Lucroy, who was designated for assignment and eventually released by the Angels on Monday, has agreed to a deal with the Chicago Cubs, according to MLB insider Jon Heyman. (Jon Heyman on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

Lucroy batted .242 with seven home runs through 240 at-bats for the Angels this season, but the Cubs just lost Willson Contreras to a hamstring injury that could sideline him for a month and dealt away Marin Maldonado at the trade deadline.
