The San Diego Padres, the main suitors for pitcher James Shields, are coming closer to signing him. (MLB.com)
Fantasy Impact:
Shields is the last major domino to fall in baseball free agency, and should sign with someone, likely San Diego, in the next week. Shields will benefit greatly from notoriously pitcher-friendly PetCo Park. If he ends up in San Diego, he's going to be a back-end #2 SP, and ideally a #3 for your squad.
