Jack Flaherty pitched seven shutout innings and struck out seven as the Cardinals blanked the Royals 2-0.
Fantasy Impact:
Flaherty’s August dominance continues, as he has now pitched 21 consecutive scoreless innings, accompanied by an incredible 0.43 WHIP to begin the month. Aside from a rough June, during which the righty pitched to a 7.01 ERA and 1.36 WHIP across 5 starts, Flaherty has been quietly excellent. In his other 19 starts, he’s now 6-4 with a 2.71 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 10.5 SO/9 ratio. Fantasy owners will hope that Flaherty continues to build on his outstanding recent performance.
