Trevor Williams struggles again but picks up win over Angels

by Brandon Plutner | Nationals Correspondent | Wed, Aug 14th 8:24am EDT

Trevor Williams picked up the win after allowing five earned runs in five innings as the Pirates defeated the Angels 10-7.

Fantasy Impact:

Williams picked up the victory to improve to 5-5 on the year, but his second half struggles continue. In 9 starts from March through May, the righty pitched to a 3.33 ERA with a 1.13 WHIP, 0.67 HR/9, and 4.2 K/BB Ratio. Since then, Williams spots an ugly 7.33 ERA with a 1.69 WHIP, 2.32 HR/9, and 2.0 K/BB ratio over 9 starts. Fantasy owners will hope that Williams can turn it around soon, but he’s been trending in the wrong direction for some time now.
