Scherzer has only made one start since the All-Star break due to a back injury, said he felt great Wednesday after completing a simulated game Tuesday. He believes his next step in rehab is pitching in a game, but in the majors not minors. Scherzer will likely be on a pitch count for his first start back. He is trending towards the right direction for Sunday’s start against the Brewers.
