James Shields signs with Padres

The San Diego Padres signed free agent James Shields to a four-year, $75 million deal, including an option for a fifth year. (Jon Heyman on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact:
The Padres have been very active this offseason, but mostly on the offensive front. Shields joins a rotation that was already fairly productive in 2014. Considering the spacious confines of Petco Park, and his solid past two seasons with the Royals, Shields should be in for another productive year for fantasy owners.
