Justin Verlander (15-5) allowed two runs on two hits while striking out 11 in a complete game in Wednesday's 2-1 loss to the Tigers. He took his fifth loss of the season.
Fantasy Impact:
Verlander went the distance with two solo home runs representing the only hits against him, but still ended up saddled with his fifth loss of the season. It was disappointing for Verlander to not receive the win after such a strong outing, but it doesn't take away from his spectacular season. Verlander is sporting a 2.77 ERA, 0.81 WHIP, and a 239:34 K:BB across 178 2/3 innings. His next scheduled start is Tuesday, home against the Rays.
