Hyun-Jin Ryu improved to 14-5 on Saturday against the Giants, tossing seven shutout innings while allowing just five hits and striking out seven.
Ryu didn't walk anyone in this one, which lowered his ERA to 2.32 on the season. Ryu was absolutely dominant in the first half of 2019 before scuffling a bit in late-August. He'll undoubtedly be a finalist for the National League Cy Young award. However, Jacob deGrom could wind up edging him out for first place.
