Royals outfielder Alex Gordon's $23M option is being declined by the Royals, who will buy him out for $4M instead, according to MLB insider Jon Heyman. The team is reportedly hoping to bring him back at a more reasonable price, however. (Jon Heyman on Twitter)
In 2019, the 35-year-old Gordon hit .266 with 13 home runs, 77 runs scored, 76 RBI, and five stolen bases in 150 games. He is hardly worth that $23M price tag but could be a valuable fourth outfielder for a team in 2020.
