Pirates starter Chris Archer will likely have his $8.25M 2020 option picked up by the Pittsburgh Pirates, according to a report from MLB insider Jon Heyman. (Jon Heyman on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact:
Even for the cost-conscious Pirates, this move makes a lot of sense. Archer did not have a good 2019, but he has been a front-of-the-rotation starter in the past, $8.25M is not an enormous price tag for a quality starter, and they dealt significant pieces to acquire him in the first place.
