Nationals starting pitcher and World Series MVP Stephen Strasburg plans to opt out of the final four years and $100M of his contract today and become a free agent, according to a report from ESPN MLB insider Jeff Passan. (Jeff Passan on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

Despite having $100M remaining on his contract, Strasburg will likely get more than that on the open market due to both his career thus far and recent success. In the 2019 regular season, Strasburg pitched to a 3.32 ERA with 251 strikeouts over 209 innings.
