Leadoff spot could be Leonys Martin's to lose

Leonys Martin was penciled in as the leadoff hitter in today's exhibition game against the Kansas City Royals and the Rangers intend to give him every opportunity to win the job on a full-time basis. (rangersblog.dallasnews.com)
Fantasy Impact:
Martin went 1-for-3 today, but the Rangers are more interested if he can handle going up against southpaws on a regular basis. Manager Jeff Bannister would like to have Martin in the leadoff spot with Shin-Soo Choo batting second since he possesses more power. Martin had a .354 OBP in the leadoff spot last year, but just a .287 OBP against lefthanders. If he can handle the challenge, his speed, along with a solid lineup behind him, could make him a strong value play late in drafts.
