John Gant tendered contract by Cardinals

Entering his fourth season with St. Louis, John Gant has received a tendered contract from the Cardinals for his 2020 campaign. The right-hander was the sole player that St. Louis needed to make a decision on before the "non-tender deadline." Salary figures will be determined later either via the arbitration process or by team negotiations before mid-January. (MLB.com)

This is great news for the Cardinals and Gant's fantasy value. Gant has proved to be incredibly versatile out of the bullpen - he can spot-start, throw multiple innings, or simply "get his guy" (get one batter out). Gant posted a career high 11 wins, suffering only one loss in his 2019 season maintaining a 3.66 ERA over that stretch. The Cardinals will look to Gant and his multi-faceted talent as the centerpiece of their bullpen again for the 2020 season.
