Ryan Howard gets first home run of the spring

by Kerry Kauffman | Fri, Mar 13th 4:57pm EDT

The Philadelphia Phillies defeated the Tampa Bay Rays on Friday by the score of 2-1. The Phillies runs game on a two-run home run by Ryan Howard in the fourth inning. It was Howard's first home run of the spring and his first extra base hit. His average now stands at .200 in Grapefruit League play.

Fantasy Impact:

Howard has struggled considerably since the first game this spring. He hit 23 home runs last season and knocked in 95 runs, but has been on a downward spiral since his Achilles injury a few seasons ago. Expect Howard to be a decent power option this season, but wont help in any other category.
