Corey Knebel hoping for May return

by Dave Kluge | White Sox Correspondent | Fri, Feb 14th 2:54pm EST

Corey Knebel is scheduled for his fourth bullpen today, another touch-and-feel session of about 20 pitches at 80 percent. He's hoping to be back by the first week of May. (Madam McCalvy on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

After opting for Tommy John surgery and missing the entire 2019 season, Knebel is almost done with his rehab and should immediately assume a big role out of the Brewers' bullpen upon his tentative May return. Josh Hader has a firm lock on the closer role but Knebel and Alex Claudio will be the most valuable to come out of the bullpen in Milwaukee. Knebel made the All-Star game as a closer in 2017 but finished 2018, his last healthy season, with 88 SO, 22 BB, 3.58 ERA, and 1.084 WHIP over 55.1 IP.
