Jeremy Hellickson battered in second spring start
by Tony Pontecorvo | Sat, Mar 14th 5:06am EDT
Projected No. 2 starter Jeremy Hellickson got shelled by the Cleveland Indians Friday, allowing nine baserunners and three runs in just 1 2/3 innings. This is Hellickson's first season with the Diamondbacks after spending his career with the Tampa Bay Rays. (Nick Piecoro)
Fantasy Impact:
The 2011 AL Rookie of the Year, Hellickson had regressed in his surface stats every year before an injury-marred 2014 in which he only started 13 games for the Rays. While some peripherals (increasing K/9, BABIP, FIP) point to a potential turnaround, Hellickson's steadily increasing H/9 and slowly decreasing velocity should temper most hopes for a dramatic resurgence.
