Chris Sale to open season on Injured List

Red Sox manager Ron Roenicke announced on Thursday that starting pitcher Chris Sale will open the season on the Injured List due to his recovery from pneumonia. (Alex Speier on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact:
It is disappointing to learn that Sale is going to start the year on the Injured List, but the good news here is that his status is entirely related to his recovery from pneumonia and not to any arm troubles. Roenicke added that Sale is doing great with the buildup of his arm now that he’s healthy, but the team wants him to get six starts this spring before he pitches in the regular season. This could scare some fantasy owners into letting Sale drop in drafts, where he is already sitting at a discounted ADP in the low 30s.
