Michael Conforto (side) headed to New York for further evaluation after MRI

by Mike Maher | Giants Correspondent | Mon, Mar 9th 8:41pm EDT

Mets outfielder Michael Conforto is headed to New York to meet with the team's medical director after injuring his side while making a catch in the outfield. He received an MRI in Florida but needs to be evaluated further, according to a report from Mets beat writer Tim Healey. (Tim Healey on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

That Conforto is heading for further evaluation after an initial MRI is not ideal. More information will likely become available in the next few days after he is able to meet with team physician Dr. David Altchek. Side and oblique injuries can sometimes linger, especially for hitters known for their power. Monitor Conforto's status this week and expect him to at least miss the beginning of the regular season until we learn otherwise.
