Luke Weaver may have his workload monitored early on in the 2020 season. General Manager Mike Hazen has said that the team will be 'cognizant' of his workload. (Nick Piecoro of AZCentral.com)
Weaver was limited to 64.1 innings in 2019 due to a forearm injury, and has never exceeded 140.1 innings in a season in his professional career. This could mean Weaver will be on a pitch count, or the Diamondbacks may insert a sixth starter into the rotation.
