Justin Verlander is slated to have surgery on his right groin today, and will miss approximately six weeks. (Ben Nicholson-Smith on Twitter)
With the season being suspended indefinitely, this six-week timeframe should have Verlander missing relatively little time, if any. Keep in mind that he still has a strained lat, but that should also heal in time for the start of the regular season.
