Fantasy Impact:

The original plan for Howard was to limit his starts in the early part of the season so that he could be with the big league club for the stretch run. However, due to the coronavirus pandemic the team might not have to be as cautious with Howard as they otherwise would've. Basically, the innings limit won't be as big of an issue in a shortened season. Aaron Nola, Jake Arrieta, Zack Wheeler, and Zach Eflin figure to take the first four spots of the rotation. Howard earning the fifth starters' job would then bump Nick Pivetta and Vincent Velasquez to the bullpen.
