Trey Mancini unlikely to play in 2020

by Dan Harris | Tue, Apr 28th 10:08am EDT

Trey Mancini wrote Tuesday in the Players' Tribune that his colon cancer is Stage 3 and he is unlikely to be able to play in 2020. (Jamison Hensley on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

Mancini stated that he will be undergo chemotherapy for six months, so it's understandable that he has almost no chance of playing in 2020. For Mancini, the only thing fantasy owners can do is wish him well. Although he won't contribute this year for purposes of redraft leagues, assuming he recovers fully, the illness and treatment should hopefully have little impact on his performance in 2021. As for this year, DJ Stewart should see the majority of time in right field for the Orioles, though he's not worth a look in anything outside of AL-only leagues.
