Fantasy Impact:

Canning suffered elbow discomfort in late February and was shut down immediately after. It was reported that he was throwing off the mound and continues to make progress in his recovery. With the MLB 2020 season slated to start in July, Canning could return and claim a spot in the Angels' rotation. The 24-year-old owned a (5-6) record with 4.52 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 96:30 K:BB ratio across 90 1/3 innings in 2019. Canning is currently 122nd among all pitchers in the latest expert consensus rankings.
