MILB officially announces the cancellation of the 2020 season

In a released statement, MILB officially announced it will be cancelling the 2020 season. (MILB on Twitter)

"Major League Baseball has informed Minor League Baseball that it will not be providing its affiliated minor league teams with players for the 2020 season." As a result, there will not be a Minor League Baseball season in 2020." A sad day in baseball as this first time in MLB history that there will be no minor league baseball. Some of the top prospects have been called up to the 60-man player pool, but a lot of players will lose the chance to develop in 2020. Minor League teams will now focus on planning for the 2021 season.
