Tony Watson still expected to be in closer mix for Giants

Tony Watson was named as one of the Giants closing options by manager Gabe Kapler in an interview earlier this week. (Maria Guardado of MLB.com)

Fantasy Impact:

This is not a surprising piece of news, as Watson seemed slated for a late-inning role back in the spring prior to the shutdown. The 35-year-old southpaw is the Giants most experienced bullpen asset and has been incredibly reliable throughout his nine big-league seasons to date. Watson has 30 career saves and a nice 2.81 ERA over more than 600 MLB relief appearances. Kapler also mentioned right-hander Tyler Rogers as an option to close out games.
