Chapman was not present at the stadium for the team's first official workout Saturday, though manager Aaron Boone clarified that his absence was simply a matter of not finishing intake protocol. The veteran left-hander was again one of the top closers in baseball in 2019 with a 2.21 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 85:25 K:BB while converting 37 of 42 save opportunities and will continue that role in 2020.
