Smith is dealing with a stiff neck, but is “feeling fine” otherwise. The neck injury impacted his command on Thursday. Smith yielded three runs on four hits while striking out five across four 1/3 innings. The 28-year-old was able to reach 78 pitches. Smith’s injury doesn’t appear to be serious and is he should be fine moving forward. He is currently 58th among all starting pitchers in the latest expert consensus rankings.
