The Astros placed Yordan Alvarez on the injured list for undisclosed reasons. (Chandler Rome on Twitter )
Fantasy Impact:
We can only assume this is related to COVID-19 as Alvarez has yet to participate in Astros summer camp. However, it doesn’t necessarily mean the young slugger has tested positive. He could have simply been in contact with someone who did. The fantasy takeaway is that the Astros open their season on July 24th, and that Alvarez should be considered doubtful for that game as of now. Hopefully he can start working out with the team sooner rather than later. It’s going to be a strange fantasy season to say the least.
