Chris Bassitt finished the final four innings of last night’s 4-2 loss to the Giants, allowing three hits, one earned run, and adding five strikeouts.
Fantasy Impact:
Bassitt will be part of the A’s rotation to start the season with the injury to A.J. Puk and Jesus Luzardo starting the season in relief. Bassitt showed improved velocity last year striking out 141 over 144 innings, but don’t overlook his xERA of 4.41 and xWHIP of 1.30. At age 31, a step back from last years 3.81 ERA/1.19 WHIP is more likely than a step forward.
