Carlos Beltran finds a way to be productive

by Chris Zolli | Fri, Mar 20th 10:23am EDT

Carlos Beltran was 1-3 with an RBI against the Phillies, raising his Spring Training batting average to .182.

Fantasy Impact:

Beltran only has two RBI and one extra base hit this spring and the Yankees are looking for him to rebound from a poor 2014 season and offseason elbow surgery. Beltran said that the elbow troubles were the reason for a down season in 2014 and fantasy owners hope that is the truth. Beltran has been very successful in the past, posting an OPS of at least .830 in seven of his past ten seasons, so fantasy owners will look to that Beltran as an OF3. Beltran needs to show that he can hit for power before he can earn that valuation, but a history of success is well documented for the 37 year OF.
