Mets reliever Dellin Betances allowed four earned runs on two hits and two walks while striking out one in just 1/3 of an inning in Friday's loss to the Atlanta Braves. He did not factor in the decision.

With Mets closer Edwin Diaz struggling to begin the season, Betances had been one of the names to potentially step into the ninth inning role if he could continue his strong start to the season. Instead, he contributed to a bullpen meltdown on Friday, allowing four of the seven runs the unit would give up en route to blowing an 8-2 lead to eventually lose the game 11-10.
